Amid the buzz of bold claims and billion-dollar biohacks, a new podcast cuts through the noise—amplifying the voices truly shaping the future of health. Launching 14 May, The Wellness Roundtable kicks off with 10 episodes on longevity—each season led by a new host and theme.

Season one dives into the science and strategy of living longer and better, featuring breakthroughs and essential voices redefining longevity and healthspan. From women’s health breakthroughs to the longevity boom’s true promise, the show keeps it real.

This isn’t another Silicon Valley immortality pitch. It’s a grounded, accessible look at how longevity science translates into real-world impact—and why wellness professionals, not just billionaires, are key to the conversation.

Host Alexia Brue, co-founder of Well+Good, speaks with scientists, clinicians, CEOs, and investors exploring cutting-edge topics like biomarkers, AI, regenerative medicine, exercise, and nutrition.

“Longevity has officially entered the cultural zeitgeist, but many conversations either get mired in the science or drift into Silicon Valley fantasy,” says Brue. “The Wellness Roundtable is different. We’re bridging the science with the real-world application that wellness professionals need.”

From Buzzword to Movement

At La Playa, we’re especially tuned in to how the wellness sector is evolving—and where it’s going. This new series aligns with what many of our clients in the wellness space are already seeking: clarity, strategy, and relevance. The podcast, designed specifically for industry insiders, moves beyond consumer inspiration into the realm of practical insight.

Brue adds, “These conversations are for the people on the ground—the clinicians, coaches, and entrepreneurs—who are ready to turn longevity from a buzzword into a movement.”

With episodes clocking in at under an hour, the series offers digestible yet deeply informed conversations featuring a powerhouse lineup of thinkers, scientists, entrepreneurs, and visionaries. The goal? Help wellness professionals translate cutting-edge longevity science into actionable strategies for their businesses, brands, and clients.

Why Longevity? Why Now?

The timing couldn’t be more on point. With longevity becoming a $26 billion market (approximately €24 billion), and interest in healthspan (not just lifespan) surging across sectors—from hospitality and fitness to functional medicine and financial planning—wellness leaders are seeking a trusted source to help navigate this fast-growing space.

“The future of aging isn’t something we should passively inherit,” Brue says. “It’s something we can actively shape.”

And that’s the invitation of The Wellness Roundtable. It’s not about chasing the latest gadget or miracle supplement. It’s about asking: How do we apply what we now know about aging to build more resilient, vibrant, and impactful lives—and how can wellness professionals lead the charge?

Inside the Roundtable

Season one doesn’t hold back. Kicking off with Peter Diamandis—futurist, physician, and founder of the XPRIZE Foundation—the series takes listeners on a tour of longevity’s biggest ideas and innovations.

Diamandis’ episode, “The Healthspan Revolution Is Here,” explores how full-body diagnostics, AI-powered imaging, and regenerative therapies are shaping a near-future where living to 100 in vibrant health is not just possible—but plausible.

Other highlights include:

  • Anna Bjurstam, wellness leader and integrative health strategist, examining the crossroads of wellness and longevity—and calling out “longevity washing.”

  • Dr. Andrea Maier, a Singapore-based geroscientist and longevity physician, discussing how biological age can now be tracked, slowed, and even reversed.

  • Dr. Adeel Khan, a regenerative medicine expert, unpacks the bold science behind stem cells, gene editing, and tissue engineering in the race to extend healthy longevity.

In another standout episode, Chip Conley, author and founder of the Modern Elder Academy, reframes midlife as a time for reinvention—exploring how purpose, community, and emotional resilience can define a meaningful, long life.

Each conversation is enriched with GWI’s rigorous research and forecasting—led by Beth McGroarty, VP of Research—making it not just insightful, but also credible.

A Fresh Voice for a Growing Industry

In a podcast world full of long-form lectures and technical jargon, The Wellness Roundtable offers something refreshingly different. It’s clear, focused, and created with wellness professionals in mind.

“It’s the practitioners—not just the billionaires—who will shape how healthspan becomes part of everyday life,” says Brue.
